Message From Bridget
I firmly believe that a strong school district is a cornerstone of a thriving community. This belief guided my family’s decision to make NIXA our home 11 years ago and inspired me to serve on the School Board in 2021.
As the mother of two active daughters- a high school student and a 2024 graduate- it has been an honor to serve alongside parents, educators, and community stakeholders, on the Nixa Board of Education during my first term.
Since joining the board, I’ve drawn on 25 years of corporate business experience, to bring a collaborative, problem-solving mindset. My decisions prioritize academic excellence, investment in our educators, and recognition of parents as key partners in their child’s education. I currently serve as Board Secretary and contribute to several committees focused on improving our schools, advocating for beneficial legislation, and promoting student & staff health and well-being.
Our district consistently excels, outperforming neighboring districts, ranking in the top 5% statewide for 3 consecutive years. With National Blue Ribbon School distinctions, international Professional Development recognition, and numerous awards in athletic, arts, and other extracurricular activities, our district reflects the talent, dedication, and collaboration of our entire Nixa school community.
While Nixa remains exceptional, public education faces unprecedented challenges, including a teacher resignation crisis, unfunded state mandates and uncertainty surrounding the Department of Education policies and agendas. Strong leadership and critical thinking are essential to navigating these issues. That’s why I am seeking reelection: to continue to address these challenges with transparency, accountability, and a focus on Nixa’s unique needs and values.
Beyond the School Board, I serve on the Advisory Board of First Priority of the Ozarks, teach 3rd & 4th Grade Sunday school, and volunteer with NightLight International, a ministry that works to restore lives affected by human trafficking. I speak regularly with church groups, advocacy organizations, and radio audiences, about the importance of active citizenship.
With your support, I will continue advocating for our students, families, and teachers, working to ensure Nixa Public Schools upholds the high standards our community expects. Thank you for trusting me to serve and work for our children’s future.
Warm regards,
Bridget
